Real time dynamics of energy and spin currents in finite quantum magnets

The projects focus is on understanding the time evolution of energy and magnetization profiles in inhomogeneous spin systems with the aim to model quantum phenomena, dissipation, and transport in nanosystem-to-bath-coupling scenarios. Using and further developing numerical methods (quantum typicality, exact diagonalization) and analytical many-body techniques we will study current correlation functions and transport coefficients, both, in the linear and non-linear regime. PhD applicants should have an excellent university degree (master or diploma) in physics, preferentially in theoretical computational condensed matter physics.
